Dear Parents and Friends,

The Elon School has developed a Birthday Book Program to offer families and friends the opportunity to donate a book to The Elon School library in honor of the student's birthday or other special occasion. These gifts will enrich our library's collection and provide additional resources for our students while also establishing a commemoration of your son or daughter's birthday for years to come. Through this program, you can also honor faculty or staff members and celebrate other memorable events.

To take part in this program, we ask that you fill out the attached form and send it along with a donation between $15.00 and $30.00, the approximate cost of most books. You may suggest a general subject area or specific titles. If you ask for specific titles, please be sure to list several options since your suggestion might already be in our library or might be unavailable.

Upon receipt of your gift, we will order the requested materials and send a note to the honoree notifying them that a book has been ordered in his or her honor. A special bookplate identifying the honoree will be placed in the book and a searchable field will be inserted into the online library catalog so that searching for the honoree's name will produce the donated book as a result.

We hope that you will choose to participate in our Birthday Book Program. It would be wonderful if all students, faculty, and staff could have a book donated in their honor. All of these gifts will be invaluable to building our library and our school.
