SAT Test Prep in English
The Elon School is pleased to announce its 2nd annual  Summer Program for children of the Alamance County area. These programs are designed to enrich your child’s academic or artistic experiences. The Elon School is known for its quality and excellence. These programs are run by Elon School faculty members who are seasoned teachers  who will teach the basic skills and then challenge your child to grow in new ways.

This course will review the English fundamentals expected for the SAT. Emphasis will be on both reading comprehension and writing skills. Students will also take practice tests and then review these tests with the instructor. Test-taking techniques will also be emphasized.

This is a two week course (July 13-24, 2009), Monday-Friday, 10:30am-11:50am, and is for rising 9th grade students through rising 12th grade students (limit 15 students in each) .

SUMMER PROGRAM FACULTY: MOLLY EXUM – English teacher and Academic Support Coordinator at The Elon School – Ms. Exum graduated from Appalachian State with a Bachelor of Science degree in English and Secondary Education. Since that time, she has experienced a variety of teaching experiences from public  high school to EXL instruction in the Czech Republic! Presently, she works as the academic support coordinator and an English techer at The Elon School.

The Elon School is pleased to announce its 2nd annual  Summer Program for children of the Alamance County area. These programs are designed to enrich your child’s academic or artistic experiences. The Elon School is known for its quality and excellence. These programs are run by Elon School faculty members who are seasoned teachers  who will teach the basic skills and then challenge your child to grow in new ways.

SUMMER PROGRAM FACULTY: LEANNA GILES – Mathematics teacher at The Elon School – Mrs. Giles graduated from Elon University with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. She previously taught at Turrentine Middle School, serving on the School Leadership Team, as a club advisor and as a lead math teacher. Additionally, she was the Director of the Sylvan Learning Center from 2002-2003.

Students will also take practice tests and then review these tests with the instructor. Test-taking techniques will also be emphasized.

This is a one week course (July 20-24, 2009), Monday-Friday, 9am-10:20am,and is for rising 7th grade through rising 9th grade. Limited to 15 students in each session.
