Musical performer, educator, and philosopher, Lucius Wilson brings a myriad of eclectic experiences to The Elon School as a part-time music instructor and teacher of world religions. To many of the Alamance County region and beyond, Mr. Wilson needs no introduction. He has taught students of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities since 1985, providing training in musical performance in all types of stringed instruments, especially guitar and bass, both electric and acoustic. He has also taught all aspects of music: theory, appreciation and history. As a musical performer, Mr. Wilson has played live with such greats as Tina Turner, The Allman Brothers Band, and Kenny Rogers, among others. He was also inducted into the Beach Music Hall of Fame in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Mr. Wilson earned a BA from Southwestern University (Oklahoma), an MS from North Carolina A&T, and completed PhD course work at the Oxford Graduate School in Dayton, Tennessee. A strong believer in interdisciplinary education, Mr. Wilson will convey a wide-ranging perspective to our faculty. He and his wife, Deborah, reside in Elon.
