Dr. Bonessi grew up in the mountains of North Carolina, but his family hails from Long Island. He spent his undergraduate and graduate years delving into the realm of physics, where he taught labs, held tutorial sessions, and gained a bit of insight into the troubles students have with science and math. His research interests at Wake Forest focused on the concept of optical trapping. In 2004, he received the Teaching Assistant Award at Wake Forest for his excellent work, an award based on undergraduate evaluations. He enjoys working with computers and resides in Burlington.
