Mr. Marshall Qualls

Marshall Qualls joined The Elon School faculty after a storied career at Graham High School. Mr. Qualls teaches music appreciation, chorus, and will direct school plays and performances. Mr. Qualls is arguably one of the premier choral directors in the state of North Carolina, with his students having sung at The White House, Nashville, Savannah, Austria, England, and France. He has directed dozens of musicals during his tenure and he has prepared many of his students to become performers on Broadway. He is not only a choral director, but he is also a veteran student government adviser who has emphasized leadership, character and service throughout his career as an educator. His students are polished, well-spoken, and often well-traveled! Honors that he has earned include the Alamance County Teacher of the Year Award and the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce Excellence in Teaching Award. Mr. Qualls has also been a prominent member in the local cultural circle. He has served on the Alamance County Arts Council Board of Directors, the Graham Historical Society, and the Arts ‘Round the Square Committee, among others. He lives in Burlington in an historic house on Davis Street. Mr. Qualls also serves as Director of Community Relations for The Elon School. This role includes fundraising, marketing and building strong relationships within the school constituency.
